CREATING COMPASSION ART EXHIBIT
Celebrating The Artists Of Skid Row Housing Trust
View Portfolio Here

Art for Animals’ Sake (AFAS) and the Skid Row Housing Trust present resident artists in their first group exhibition “Creating Compassion”. Working in various artistic mediums including acrylic paint, drawing and mixed media, each piece is inspired by lively discussions about the human-animal relationship created by formerly homeless individuals transitioning into permanent housing.

Through our programs we help foster a community which celebrates the bond we share with other animals through creative expression and accomplishment. Our Creating Compassion program, with its animal centric themes, encourages all people to be advocates for the animals.

It’s your support that enables us to provide residents access to a creative environment, give them the tools to express themselves and create a dialogue around animal relationships.

PAST EXHIBITS

Art for Animals' Sake and Progress for Science invited artists to create artwork inspired and honoring Britches, a baby monkey who was liberated from a science laboratory in 1985.

See the artwork and the story that has inspired folks to work for greater protections for animals.

Heading 3

“We can never arrive early enough. There is always a small group already waiting, eager to discuss a new animal topic, explore a new art technique and engage creatively.”

- Cory Mac, Education Director

We seek to empower individuals of all ages with accomplishment through art as they transition out of homelessness, acquiring healthy coping and communication skills for the future.
